Bilge Water Clean Up
-
-
On August 10, 2010 the pass Christian harbor master asked for a demonstration of OSE II in the bilge area of a shrimp boat that had moored in this harbor for generations
-
-
The shrimp boats bilge had been setting with oil in it for several months
-
-
Upon opening the bilge hatch it was discovered there was a rope, towel and shirt saturated with oil laying in the bilge as well
-
-
The harbor master along with the vessel owner watched Kevin Barbier apply OSE II mixed with ocean water to the bilge
-
-
The bilge was estimated to have 3 gallons of oil in approximately 15 gallon of water, 9 ounce\’s of OSE II was mixed with 3 gallons of ocean water in a sprayer, and was applied to the bilge water area, with oil.
-
-
After all the OSE II was applied the bilge was allowed to set overnight, before the bilge was dumped they could not find a trace of oil, of course the complete bioremediation process will take additional time, however the toxic effects of the oil has diminished
